Our own families ask us for help daily, so we know how frustrating it can be to look for answers and not find them.

With this in mind, there are a few things we feel we must bring to your attention.

Paying for Drivers (which are free... you do not need to pay for drivers)

Negative Rollback (reporting "inflated" false data making you update drivers you do not need to. This has become far too common as sellers fight to see who can show the most results. Sadly, the only loser is you, the customer)

Scare Tactics (making you believe your computer is going to explode if you do not address cedrtain minor issues).

Paying for Drivers: Some businesses (web sites and software products alike) will tell you that you have to pay for the actual drivers themselves (or "appear" like you do), which is definitely not the case. Drivers are free and provided by device manufacturers.

Below is an example of a program that actually uses a "Windows" like toolbar icon that pops up a very critical message leading you to believe that Windows itself needs these drivers updated (which obviously is not the case):

While this message is not techinically misleading, the manner in which it is presented is. These are not Windows critical, and while you can be in danger of losing sound or a printer malfunction etc, your PC will not explode if you fail to update your drivers.
