One of the things that set's us apart from the rest is in our commitment to YOU the customer. The very reason we started developing software was because we wanted to truly help solve computer problems. Our own families ask us for help daily, so we know how frustrating it can be to look for answers and not find them.
With this in mind, there are a few things we feel we must bring to your attention.
Paying for Drivers (which are free... you do not need to pay for drivers)
Negative Rollback (reporting "inflated" false data making you update drivers you do not need to. This has become far too common as sellers fight to see who can show the most results. Sadly, the only loser is you, the customer)
Scare Tactics (making you believe your computer is going to explode if you do not address cedrtain minor issues).
"So What Exactly is Happening? Can You Give Me Details?"
Paying for Drivers: Some businesses (web sites and software products alike) will tell you that you have to pay for the actual drivers themselves (or "appear" like you do), which is definitely not the case. Drivers are free and provided by device manufacturers.
(we list many of the top sources here)
Unlike the businesses mentioned above, DriverBoost Pro™ provides a valuable service, that is, simplifying the locating and identifying of outdated drivers and directing you to the proper most up to date version available. Period.
DriverBoost Pro™ does not, and will NEVER make you pay a single penny, for a single driver EVER.
"OK So Drivers are Free, So What Exactly Does DriverBoost Pro™ Do Then?"
So what does it do you may ask? By using the latest matching algorythims, DriverBoost Pro™ is the expert, handling the task of locating and identifying outdated drivers to your exact system and connected devices automatically, saving you hours of frustration, eliminating risk, and restoring your pc and devices to peak performance.
Not only that, 25%-50% of drivers are actually discontinued by the manufacturers and unavailable, however these drivers are provided by DriverBoost Pro™.
Simply put, instead of trying to figure out what needs updating, where to find a driver, worrying about if the driver is correct, and learning which drivers need to be updated ALL by yourself, DriverBoost Pro™ does it all for you in a couple clicks saving you hours of frustration, and taking away any risk involved.
"Why is Finding the Right Driver Hard, and How Does DriverBoost Pro™ Help Me?"
To start with, finding the RIGHT driver is a very labor intensive task, especially with so many versions of Windows, makes, models etc, coupled with the manufacturer sites being extremely hard to navigate and very user "unfriendly". Yes, it can be a real struggle from start to finish!
(Note: To attempt to do this manually, you can visit our extensive driver installation Knowledge Base and you'll see what we mean)
Not only that, installing the WRONG driver can lead to many problems such as device failure, crashes, error codes and more. DriverBoost Pro™ eliminates the risk of downloading the wrong driver.
Anaolgy: To explain this further and help you differentiate the difference, a good comparison would be your income taxes. Anyone can fill out the forms and file their taxes free of charge by downloading all of the proper forms from the IRS website etc, however, many people would rather use a software program like TurboTax, or hire a professional accountant or accounting firm like H&R Block to fill out the forms and file their taxes for them. Why? It's safer, faster and takes a lot less time.
You are not charged for the forms, just the service.
DriverBoost Pro™ can be looked at in the same way. The drivers are completely free, however the matching technology is the service you would invest in, which guarantees you get the right driver for your EXACT system and device with no guess work, and saving you the time, hassle and risk.
The bottom line to all of this is, if you are ever asked to pay for a driver, do NOT do so. There is absolutely no need. But rather, use common sense and practicality when making a buying decision.
Negative Rollback: Typically, some programs will scan your computer and show you more outdated drivers than you really have, and in some instances, this may cause you to update a driver with an older version. We call this a negative "roll back".
The problem here is there is no way to know until you have installed the new drivers. Sadly, most of these programs last for months until enough complaints get gathered and at that time, the plug is usually pulled.
Our advice? If a program offers an option to backup your drivers, do it. If they do not offer this option, we would stay clear.
Scare Tactics: One of the most common yet misleading sales tactics is by scaring you into purchase. The good news is that most of the programs that do this, are also the ones that have negative rollback so it makes spotting them easier. Below is an example of a program that actually uses a "Windows" like toolbar icon that pops up a very critical message leading you to believe that Windows itself needs these drivers updated (which obviously is not the case):
While this message is not techinically misleading, the manner in which it is presented is. These are not Windows critical, and while you can be in danger of losing sound or a printer malfunction etc, your PC will not explode if you fail to update your drivers.
"So What Can I Do?"
Send a message: Even if you dont buy any of our products, speak with your wallet and only buy from titles that empower you, not from those that try to scare you.
We are commited to not only providing you with REAL, QUALITY products and information, but also being totally transparent and open throughout your entire relationship with us, INCLUDING delivering real data to you about your PC, not inflated.
That's why so many people who form a relationship with us keep coming back again and again. We realize that the financial side of the business is simply just a "side affect" of helping others and really meaning what you say and do.
We operate as though we are selling to our own mothers. If she would be proud, then we are proud.
Thanks for taking the time to learn more about, "paying for drivers", "negative rollback " and "scare tactics" and for standing up for what is right. We hope to deserve your business. If not now, maybe in the future. Happy surfing.
