How to Update Drivers for Your Logitech Peripherals

Logitech makes a wide variety of products–from keyboards to trackballs, from surround sound speakers to ClearChat USB headsets. It is possible for these peripheral devices to give up the ghost on occasion. But if you are having issues, it is more than likely a driver issue.

Logitech Drivers and Your Peripheral Devices

Drivers are little bits of coding that allow your devices to talk to Windows, and thus perform their function.

For example, if you have any of the Logitech gaming keyboards, you have a whole lot of functions that you wouldn’t have access to without gaming keyboard drivers. You would still be able to type, but all the reasons you bought the keyboard are pretty null and void unless you just wanted a keyboard that had keys where the letters and numbers glow in the dark.

If you are using a trackball, then you need drivers to tell the device how to point properly. Unlike most mice, a trackball’s drivers aren’t built into Windows. Without drivers, your computer wouldn’t know what to do with these peripherals.

The cause of driver problems is they can get corrupted or out-of-date. If you’ve recently been infected with a virus or malware, then it’s highly likely your drivers have been corrupted. If not, then your drivers are probably out of date.

How do drivers get out of date? Well when Windows updates, sometimes it updates the programming language that Windows uses. This can cause drivers to become out-of-date. Also installing new programs that require a newer version of your driver can cause driver errors. The fix for this is to update your Logitech drivers.

How to Update Your Logitech Drivers

First you need to find your product, then download the drivers, and then install the drivers. We may have just made it sound much simpler than it actually is, but it’s also not that hard. Let’s walk you through it now.

  1. Go to http://www.logitech.com/en-us/support-downloads.
  2. Choose the type of peripheral that you need: be it headset, audio, keyboard, gaming, etc. Click on the blue link under the picture to get to that page.
  3. Find your product from those pictured.
  4. Click on the blue link under the picture.
  5. Click where it says “Downloads”.
  6. In the “Choose OS” window, select the version of Windows your computer is running.
  7. Then you may be asked to select the software.
  8. Then select the file. By this it means the 32 bit or the 64 bit. You have to know which version of Windows you are running to answer this question.
  9. Then it will pull up a Download Software button and tell you all the things they’ve updated in this driver update. Click on Download Software.
  10. Save the file to a location where you can find it in a moment.
  11. Once the file is completely downloaded, go to where you saved the file and double click on the file. It will automatically update your Logitech drivers for you.

Updating Your TSSTCorp Drivers for Your Disk Drive

TSSTCorp stands for Toshiba Samsung Storage Technology Corporation and is the single largest manufacturer of disk drives in the world, so if you’ve purchased a computer with one of their drives, chances are you’ve got a good one. TSSTCorp makes CD, DVD, DVD-RW and Blu-ray drives for your computer. Basically the things that your computer needs to install most programs and back up its data.

Drivers and Device Driver Errors

Drivers are little bits of programming that allow your hardware to talk to your Windows. Without it your hardware will not work properly. Your disks will spin, but you’ll get gibberish or the “Windows cannot load the device driver for this software” error message. In this case, you’re going to have to update the drivers for the drive. They could be corrupt from a virus or malware infection, or just out of date. Either situation, the fix is the same. Update the TSSTCorp driver.

Update TSSTCorp Drivers

The first step in updating your TSSTCorp drivers is finding out which drive you have. To do this you need to go into Device Manager and get the model of your drive.

To do that, follow these steps:

Are you confused about where to go when you update Realtek drivers? You aren’t the only one, so we created these easy instructions to do it yourself.

How to Update Your Realtek Drivers

If you have been having problems with no sound recently, there can be several reasons for it. If it started after you installed a program or updated Windows, it is most likely a Realtek driver error. The best way to fix this problem is with a Realtek driver update.

What are Audio Drivers?

Audio drivers, which are what your Realtek drivers are, are little bits of programming that allow your sound card to talk to Windows. This allows for programs, from iTunes to games, to make sound come out of your computer. Without drivers, you would have no sound. If your drivers are corrupt due to a virus or malware infection or out of date because of Windows being updated and your sound card drivers never being updated, the solution is the same. Update your Realtek drivers.

Finding Your Hardware and Getting the Drivers

The first step in updating your drivers is going into Device Manager and figuring out which sound card you have. To do this, follow these steps:

  1. Go to Start
  2. In the Search bar type in “Device Manager”
  3. Press Enter
  4. Go to “Sound, video and game controllers”
  5. Write down the entire name of your Realtek device

Now you want to go to your computer manufacturer’s web page. You should have an idea of what your system model is. If not, then there is a way to find out. Follow these steps:

  1. Go to Start
  2. Go to Computer
  3. Right click on Computer and go to Properties
  4. You should hopefully see the model under Manufacturer, write this down: you may need this on the manufacturer’s web page.

Now you are prepared to go to the manufacturer’s web page. Once there, look for “Support” or “Downloads.” First do a search for your audio drivers. Let’s start off easy. If you can’t find the Realtek drivers, we’ll do a search for your computer model’s drivers. Once you locate the drivers, you want to save them in a location you know how to get to. Make a mental note on if the file is an exe file.

Updating your Realtek Drivers

Now if the file was an exe file the next step is easy as pie. Just go to the file and double click on it. The file will self-install. If your computer manufacturer was not one of those that makes drivers in exe files, we have a few steps to go through still.

  1. Go back into Device Manager from Start
  2. Go to “Sound, video, and game controllers”
  3. Double click on your Realtek device
  4. In the “Driver” tab click “Update driver”
  5. “Browse” to where you saved the file and then update the file
  6. You may be asked to restart at this time, please do so for the changes to take effect

Now there is an easier way to go about this. There is software that hit the market about a year ago called driver update software that will monitor your drivers, see if any of your drivers become corrupt or out of date, and then search the Web for the latest driver. The program will update the Realtek drivers for you–all with a few clicks of the mouse. That’s what we call hassle free driver updates!

Do you have an ASUS product, but it’s not working right? The first thing to do is check which ASUS drivers to update. This is the most likely culprit.

If you have invested in ASUS products, it was money well spent. ASUS is top of the line hardware, they have spent millions on research and development over the years to guarantee a quality product hits the shelves. So whether you bought a motherboard, a video card, or a laptop, the chances of you having hardware issues are slim.

What are the Most Common Problems Seen?

The most common problems seen are driver errors. These can be caused by corrupt or out of date drivers.

Drivers are little bits of programming that allow your hardware to talk to Windows. So in the case of your video card, your computer may act normal except when you try to play games or watch Netflix. Then your screen goes blank or you get a black box.

Also when you update Windows or install new programs, you can cause your drivers to go out of date. Whether your drivers are corrupt or out of date, the fix is the same. Update your ASUS drivers.

How Do You Get the Drivers to Update Your ASUS Drivers?

First off, you need to go into Device Manager and get the name of the device you need the drivers for. If you don’t know that, then there’s no use getting drivers because the wrong ones just won’t work.

To do so follow these steps:

  1. Go to Start.
  2. In the Search Bar type in Device Manager.
  3. Press Enter.
  4. In Device Manager, it depends on which device is acting up when you go where you want to go. For instance if you’re encountering problems with your video, you want to go to “Display Adapters,” but if you are having problems with no sound, you want to go to “Sound, video and game controllers.”
  5. Once you’ve found the device, write down the entire name.

Now you want to go to the ASUS website and get the drivers for your device.

  1. Go to http://support.asus.com.
  2. Click on “Download”.
  3. I suggest going to the “Model Automatic Detection” and getting ALL your drivers updated. But if you want just one, then put in the model info you wrote down in the search and do a search for it. If you have a laptop/notebook it will let you pick which driver(s) you want to install.
  4. You will probably be asked which operating system (version of Windows) you have. Then it should be time to download the drivers.
  5. Save the drivers to a location you will remember.

How to Update ASUS Drivers

Now that you’ve got the drivers, what do you do? Well first things first. Do you have a program that will allow you to open a .zip file on your computer? If the answer is “I don’t know,” then probably not. Depending on your version of Windows, do a search for WinRAR or WinRAR 64 bit, download it and install it onto your computer. It’s a free program that will allow you to read .zip files. WinZip charges you. Once you’ve done that, you can follow these steps:

  1. Go to your Desktop.
  2. Right click and go to New.
  3. Go to Folder.
  4. Right click the folder and choose Rename.
  5. Name the folder Drivers.
  6. Now go to the file you just downloaded from the ASUS web page.
  7. Double click on the file. You will notice at the top an “Extract to” You want to have the file extract to the new folder you created and named “Drivers”.
  8. Now we want to go back to Device Manager from Start.
  9. Go back to your device, double click on it.
  10. Go to the “Driver” tab.
  11. Click “Update driver”.
  12. “Browse” to the “Driver” folder on your Desktop and choose to update the driver.

There is an easier way to update your ASUS drivers. There’s software on the market called driver update software that will monitor your drivers for corruption or in case they become out of date, and then search the Web for the latest drivers. Finally, this software will update the drivers for you. All with just a few clicks of the mouse. Completely hassle free driver updates.

Forget about hunting down which piece of hardware needs the driver in Device Manager, then hunting down the drivers yourself, only to have to go back into Device Manager again to plug them in! Get driver update software to do it for you.

Chipsets comprise a very integral part of your PC’s infrastructure. Like any other component, chipsets require compatible drivers for proper functionality. There are a few simple ways to update your chipset drivers if you’re dealing with corrupt, outdated, or missing drivers. Here, we’ll go over chipset driver basics, and the best ways to resolve chipset driver problems.

What are Chipsets, Anyways?

Chipsets are basically a network of circuits that transmit information to various components in your PC. One group of chipsets might work to carry data for processors, memory, and BIOS configuration, while another might transfer information related to peripheral devices and hardware. Chipsets are often integrated with the motherboard to centralize data transfer.

Of course, chipsets require updated drivers so that they can effectively transmit information between components. If a chipset’s drivers are outdated, then the chipset won’t be able to communicate with crucial PC processors, memory functionality, and peripheral devices.

Use Device Manager to Check Your Chipset Drivers

Your computer will usually inform you if your chipset drivers are outdated. If you open up the Device Manager, found within the Control Panel, you’ll see a list of all of your devices. If there is a yellow exclamation mark displayed next to the device, this usually means you need to replace drivers.

Often, the Device Manager will display peripheral devices, but not chipsets or motherboards. This is why you have three options to replace chipset drivers. Windows Update is one method for replacing these drivers. This is a tool that looks through Microsoft’s online database to find new chipset drivers.

Manual Installation of Chipset Drivers

If you know who manufactured your chipsets, you can visit their website and download chipset drivers from the “Support” or “Downloads” page.

What About Driver Update Software?

Alternatively, you can find chipset drivers by utilizing strong driver update software. The right kind of driver update software will look through your entire system for outdated drivers, then install new ones.

Driver update software is a good bet for people who need to update chipset drivers.

Many PC users aren’t sure how to update motherboard drivers. In fact, some people aren’t even aware of the core functionality of the motherboard. The motherboard serves a few very important purposes. Here, we’ll go over some of the easiest ways to update your motherboard drivers.

Motherboard Functionality

Your motherboard is basically the entire core of your system’s infrastructure. The motherboard controls your computer’s boot functionality, BIOS components, system clock, peripheral inputs and outputs, and processors. In short, your motherboard “directs” all of your other system resources.

When the motherboard’s drivers are out of date, it can be nearly impossible to do anything. Plus, most motherboards don’t come with driver installation CDs, since they are already installed on your computer when you buy the computer. As a result, you’ve got to do a bit of detective work to update motherboard drivers. Never fear, because you can update motherboard drivers fairly easily using the following methods.

Find Motherboard Drivers with Windows Update

The first method you can use involves utilizing Windows Update to find and install new drivers for the motherboard. Windows Update is a built-in feature that will look through Microsoft’s databases to find the right drivers. You may want to consider using Windows Update to find drivers, but you might have to look elsewhere to fix the problem.

A Manual Search?

Normally, you’d be able to visit the manufacturer’s web site to download drivers, but that’s a bit trickier when it comes to the motherboard. This is why finding good driver update software is possibly the easiest way to solve motherboard driver problems.

A Good Call: Driver Update Software

With the right driver update software, you can locate all of your outdated drivers and replace them by running this strong driver update software. Use good driver update software so that you can update motherboard drivers on your machine.
