As the world’s fifth largest media conglomerate, Sony has a massive database of drivers to choose from. Additionally, they have pages on top of pages of support documents you can wade through to find the help you need. While this can be nice, if you do not know what you are looking for or if you are not very computer savvy, then this can be a hassle and it can quickly become quite overwhelming.

A Quick Overview of Drivers

Everything on your computer needs a driver to work. This includes all the programs, all the devices and everything in between—without the drivers, your computer would not function. The drivers act as the communication device to keep everything running smoothly.

Anytime you update your computer (or more likely Windows automatically updates your computer for you) the drivers will need to update as well. Many times, this is also done automatically but sometimes a few drivers are left out and you run into driver errors. When this happens, you have to update the drivers yourself to get your computer back to running like it should.

Signs Your Drivers are Outdated

Drivers get messed up and need updating all the time but people do not recognize the symptoms. Here is a quick checklist that points to driver errors.

  • No Sound
  • Printer Not Working
  • Printer Prints Extra Sheets
  • Speakers Make Crackling Noise
  • Error Message: Device Not Recognize
  • USB Device Not Working

How to Update Sony Drivers Manually

There are two ways to update your Sony drivers, one of which is using the Sony website. If you plan on updating your drivers manually, you should only use the Sony website as it is the only way to safely download the driver yourself. Otherwise, you could wind up with bigger problems than you started with.

  1.  Go to the Sony website
  2. Hover over Support
  3. Hover Over Electronics
  4. Click on Drivers/Software
  5. Select a Product Category
  6. Select a Series
  7. Select a Model
  8. Select the Drivers & Software Tab
  9. Select the Arrow next to the update you need
  10.  Click Download
  11. Click Download Now
  12. Click Save File

Once you save the file to your computer, navigate to where you saved the file. Then double click the exe file to begin the installation of the file. Follow the onscreen instructions to install the driver on your computer. You will need to repeat this process for each driver you need to install on your computer.

How to Update All Drivers Automatically

Instead of updating drivers one at a time, you can update all drivers at once. With driver update software, you update all your drivers with a few simple clicks. With three clicks, you scan, download and install everything in two minutes. No need to search through thousands of drivers. No need to search through dozens of websites.

All you have to do is turn on one program and click three buttons to update Sony drivers. It does everything else for you. When it is done, all the drivers on your computer will be up to date and your computer will be running like new.

Samsung makes a wide variety of printers, monitors, desktops, laptops, netbooks and other home computing equipment. All of them require their own Samsung drivers and support systems. The exact driver you need will not only depend on the product you have but also the operating system you are running, but we’re getting ahead of ourselves. Let’s back up a bit.

The Basics of Drivers

Before you start looking for the right driver, it is good to know what a driver is and what it does. This way you know why you need it. A driver is in fact very important. It allows your computer to communicate with programs and devices. Without the drivers, nothing on your computer would be able to work.

Even more importantly, you need updated drivers for your programs to work right. Not updating your drivers would be like never changing the oil on your car. Your car would run for a while but eventually it would start running weird and then stop. However, if you changed your oil on a regular basis, your car would stay running smoothly for a long time.

Drivers work much the same way. You update them frequently and they will keep your computer running smoothly for a long time.

Updating Samsung Drivers Manually

Going back to the oil analogy, you can update the drivers on your computer manually or you can have it done for you. Doing it manually takes more time but it can be done (if you know how.)

Like changing the oil, updating drivers can get a bit messy if you are not careful. You have to know exactly what driver you need before you start or you will damage your computer. If you install the wrong driver, you could do more harm than good. Therefore, only install the driver which matches the product you own and the operating system you are running. If you are unsure which driver you need or which operating system you are running, then do not update your drivers manually. Instead, use driver update software.

Steps to Update Samsung Drivers Manually

  1. Go to the Samsung Support Site
  2. Click on your product type (monitor, laptop, desktop, etc)
  3. Choose product type
  4. Choose product subtype
  5. Choose a model number
  6. Click Select
  7. Click Get Downloads
  8. Click Driver Tab
  9. Click the Zip file next to the Operating System file of the driver you need
  10. Agree to the conditions and save the file

Once you have saved the file, you will need to open the zip file with a program like WinZip or JZip. These programs can be downloaded free of charge from the Internet if one is not already available on your computer. After opening the zip file, double click the exe file to begin the installation of the driver. After installing the driver, repeat the process for each driver you need.

Install Samsung Drivers Automatically

If you are unsure which drivers you need, there is a simpler way. Driver update software will do all the work for you. It will scan your computer and detect what software programs you have and what devices you have. It then will hunt down and find all the needed drivers.

All you have to do is click a few buttons and in just a matter of minutes all of your Samsung drivers will be current and running like new.
