Are you confused about how to navigate Sharp drivers updates on their website? This article will take you through everything in small steps.

If your Sharp printer is acting up or just not printing, there could be a few causes. If you have checked the ink already to no avail or your printer is printing gibberish, then you could have a printer driver error.

What are Printer Drivers and What do They Do?

Simply put, printer drivers are little bits of programming that allow your printer to communicate with your computer. Windows needs these drivers in order to process the command to print and translate what you see on your computer into data that the printer will understand and then print. Without these drivers, you will have a printer that prints gibberish at best, or not at all as it won’t recognize a command to print.

What causes printer driver errors? There are two causes of printer driver errors. Either the driver has become corrupt or out-of-date.

A driver becomes corrupt if you have been infected with a virus or malware. These malignant programs often go after your drivers in an attempt to disable your computer.

Drivers go out-of-date in a couple of different ways. First, is through the regular updating of Windows’ programming language. The uses of Windows change over time significantly enough to render once-working drivers useless. The other way is through the installation of new programs that may be written to work with a newer version of your printer’s drivers.

Fortunately the fix for both is the same. Update your Sharp drivers for your specific printer.

How Do I Update My Sharp Printer Drivers?

First thing to do is look at your printer and find the model information. If you can’t find it, we can go into Device Manager and look it up. Just follow these steps:

  1. Go to Start.
  2. In the Search Bar, type in “Device Manager”.
  3. Press Enter.
  4. Go to “Imaging Devices”.
  5. Write down your model number for future reference.

Now you want to download your Sharp drivers. To do that, we’re going to have to go to Sharp’s website. We’ll walk you through the download of the Sharp printer drivers.

  1. Go to http://www.sharpusa.com/CustomerSupport/ProductDownloads.aspx.
  2. On the side that says “Find Product Downloads By Model #” in the dropdown box that says “Select a Product Category”, you want to choose MFPs & Printers.
  3. In the second dropdown box, you choose your model number. This is where your piece of paper and the note of your model number come in.
  4. Now for “Download Type”, we want Driver.
  5. Next it will ask which “Driver Platform”. You want to choose Microsoft because you are running Windows.
  6. Now it will ask you what your Operating System is. Choose the version of Windows you are running and then “Search”.
  7. Now you will find yourself with several drivers listed for your printer, you want to pick the GDI driver.
  8. Save the file in a location you will remember.

Now, the file is a zip file. Unless you already have a program that will let you open and extract zip files, we need to get you one. The two most trusted programs on the market are WinZip and WinRAR. We prefer WinRAR because it’s free.

So pull up your web browser and go to Google. Do a search for “WinRAR Download” or if you have a 64 bit version of Windows “WinRAR 64 bit download” and find a download that way. Install WinRAR and we’ll get to updating your Sharp drivers right away.

Now to update your Sharp drivers. Follow these steps:

  1. You want to go to your Desktop and right-click.
  2. Go to “New”.
  3. Go to “Folder” and name the folder “Sharp drivers”.
  4. Now go to the file you downloaded and double click on it.
  5. A window should open up that will show you all the files contained in that zip file. At the top of the window, you should see an option to “Extract to.” Click on this and choose the new folder you just created as the destination of the files.
  6. Now we go back into Device Manager.
  7. Go back to your printer, and double click on it.
  8. Go to the “Driver” tab.
  9. Choose to “Update driver”.
  10. Choose to “Browse” to the location of the drivers.
  11. 11.    Point it to the folder on your Desktop and choose to “Update driver”.
  12. 12.    Your computer may want to restart at this time, go ahead and let it.

Finding a fix for sound card drivers doesn’t have to be complicated. We can show you how to fix volume driver problems on your own.

If you are experiencing no sound and you’ve made sure your volume is turned up–not muted–and your speakers are plugged in, then it is likely you are experiencing a problem with your sound card drivers. Sound card drivers are bits of coding that allows your sound card to talk to Windows.

So when you play games, listen to music, or watch videos, it all gets translated into sounds you can hear. Sound cards are the actual hardware that makes the sounds, but it would be useless without the drivers to communicate with Windows.

What Can Cause a Sound Card Driver Error And How Do You Fix It?

There are a couple things that can cause a sound driver error. The first is a corrupt sound driver. This happens when you’ve been infected with a virus or malware. The infection will spread damage around and likely your sound card driver isn’t the only driver affected.

The second is an out-of-date driver. This can happen because Windows updated its programming language to no longer be compatible with your driver, or maybe you installed a new program that requires a newer version of your sound card driver.

Both have the same basic effect, no sound. Lucky for you both have the same fix, update your sound card drivers.

How Do You Update Your Sound Drivers?

First you have to know what sound card you have. Since most people don’t know this off the top of their heads, Windows has a handy tool called Device Manager that will allow you to go in and find out.

Follow these steps to get to Device Manager and find out what sound card you have: Go to Start

  1. In the Search Bar, type in “Device Manager”
  2. Press Enter
  3. Go to “Sound, video and game controllers”
  4. Find your sound card and write down the make and model

Now you need to go to the manufacturer’s web page and download the drivers. Most manufacturers put them under the “Support” or “Downloads” section of the site. You may need to do a search for your sound card, that’s why you wrote down the model. Once you’ve found the sound card on the site and told it you want the drivers, save the drivers to a location you will remember. Make a mental note on if the file is an exe file or not.

Now we only have to update your drivers. If the file was an exe file, all you have to do is double click on the file and it will automatically update for you. If you weren’t lucky enough to have a manufacturer who makes their drivers exe files, we’ll walk you through updating your drivers.

Follow these steps to update your drivers:

  1. Go back into Device Manager
  2. Go to “Sound, video and game controllers”
  3. Double click on your sound card
  4. Go to the “Driver” tab
  5. Click “Update driver”
  6. “Browse” to the location you saved the file and choose to update
  7. Windows may want to restart at this point. Go ahead and let it.

That’s it! You have now successfully updated your sound drivers!

An Easier Way to Update Sound Drivers

There is, however, an easier way to update your sound card drivers. There is new software on the market made specifically for people who either don’t know all that much about updating drivers, or are sick of doing it every few months and want an automatic way to do it.

This software is called driver update software. What it does is monitors your drivers. If any get corrupted or out-of-date, it will search the Web for the latest driver. Then it will update that driver for you. All with a few clicks of the mouse. Really hassle-free driver updating.

How to Update Drivers for Your Logitech Peripherals

Logitech makes a wide variety of products–from keyboards to trackballs, from surround sound speakers to ClearChat USB headsets. It is possible for these peripheral devices to give up the ghost on occasion. But if you are having issues, it is more than likely a driver issue.

Logitech Drivers and Your Peripheral Devices

Drivers are little bits of coding that allow your devices to talk to Windows, and thus perform their function.

For example, if you have any of the Logitech gaming keyboards, you have a whole lot of functions that you wouldn’t have access to without gaming keyboard drivers. You would still be able to type, but all the reasons you bought the keyboard are pretty null and void unless you just wanted a keyboard that had keys where the letters and numbers glow in the dark.

If you are using a trackball, then you need drivers to tell the device how to point properly. Unlike most mice, a trackball’s drivers aren’t built into Windows. Without drivers, your computer wouldn’t know what to do with these peripherals.

The cause of driver problems is they can get corrupted or out-of-date. If you’ve recently been infected with a virus or malware, then it’s highly likely your drivers have been corrupted. If not, then your drivers are probably out of date.

How do drivers get out of date? Well when Windows updates, sometimes it updates the programming language that Windows uses. This can cause drivers to become out-of-date. Also installing new programs that require a newer version of your driver can cause driver errors. The fix for this is to update your Logitech drivers.

How to Update Your Logitech Drivers

First you need to find your product, then download the drivers, and then install the drivers. We may have just made it sound much simpler than it actually is, but it’s also not that hard. Let’s walk you through it now.

  1. Go to http://www.logitech.com/en-us/support-downloads.
  2. Choose the type of peripheral that you need: be it headset, audio, keyboard, gaming, etc. Click on the blue link under the picture to get to that page.
  3. Find your product from those pictured.
  4. Click on the blue link under the picture.
  5. Click where it says “Downloads”.
  6. In the “Choose OS” window, select the version of Windows your computer is running.
  7. Then you may be asked to select the software.
  8. Then select the file. By this it means the 32 bit or the 64 bit. You have to know which version of Windows you are running to answer this question.
  9. Then it will pull up a Download Software button and tell you all the things they’ve updated in this driver update. Click on Download Software.
  10. Save the file to a location where you can find it in a moment.
  11. Once the file is completely downloaded, go to where you saved the file and double click on the file. It will automatically update your Logitech drivers for you.

An Easier Way to Update Logitech Drivers

There is an easier way to go about updating your Logitech drivers. There is this software called driver update software that will monitor your drivers for any signs of corruption or if they become out of date. Then it will go online and download the latest drivers, updating your drivers for you. All with a few clicks of the mouse. A hassle free driver update.

Whether you have encountered a problem with your sound and are dealing with no sound, or know that sound card manufacturers create new drivers on a regular basis and thus its good to update your drivers on occasion you’ve come to the right place.

Common Fixes For No Sound

In case you are here to fix no sound I’ll walk you through common causes that are not driver related, but can be simple fixes. First check your speakers. Are they getting power? Are they on? What is the volume set at? Now check and make sure they’re still plugged into the sound card. It’s possible they could have come unplugged or come loose. Next go to your volume control next to the clock on your Desktop and left click, go to the “Mixer.” Make sure nothing is muted, and the volume is all the way up.

If that doesn’t fix you then its probably a driver error. This can be caused by a corrupt or out of date sound card driver. Drivers can become corrupt from a virus or malware infection, and drivers get out of date as sound card manufacturers release new drivers seemingly every month. The out of date drivers only start effecting your computer when Windows updates or you install a new program that uses a newer version of the drivers than you have. Then you have trouble. The way to fix this situation is to update sound drivers.

Finding Your Sound Card and How to Download the Sound Card Driver

The first thing you need to do is find out exactly which sound card you have. To do this you need to go into Device Manager. I’ll walk you though all the steps:

  1. Go to Start
  2. In the Search bar type in “Device Manager”
  3. Press Enter
  4. Go to “Sound, video and game controllers”
  5. Find your sound card there
  6. Write down the entire thing, make and model numbers and letters

Now you want to go to the manufacturer’s website. Do a Google search for the manufacturer, then when you get to the website look for “Support” or “Downloads.” That’s where you will find the drivers. You will find a search there where you can put the model of your sound card in and it will give you a page where usually you pick what version of Windows you are running before you can download, then you can download the file. Make sure to save it in a location you can find it. Make a note on if it is an exe file.

Now it is time to install the drivers. If the file was an exe file your manufacturer made things easy on you. All you have to do is go to the file and double click on it. It will automatically update the files for you. If you were not so lucky I will walk you through the steps to update sound drivers.

Just follow these steps to update your sound card drivers:

  1. Go back into Device Manager from Start
  2. Go to “Sound, video and game controllers”
  3. Double click on your sound card
  4. Click on the “Driver” tab
  5. Click “Update driver”
  6. “Browse” to where you saved the file and update
  7. Windows may want to restart now, let it

Congratulations! You have now updated your sound drivers.

A Simpler Way

There is an easier way to update sound drivers. It involves a new type of program that has been on the market around a year called driver update software. What this software does is find our corrupt or out of date drivers, search the web for the most up to date drivers, then update the drivers for you. All with a few clicks of the mouse. That’s what I call hassle free driver updates!

How to Update your Canon Drivers So You Can Resume Using Your Devices

Ever since printers first hit the market, Canon has been providing some of the best imaging products on the market. From printers to cameras, Canon focuses on delivering innovative solutions. Some of their most popular product lines are the PowerShot digital cameras and the PIXMA printers.

Canon Drivers and Your Computer

Of course, even the best piece of hardware isn’t going to work properly without its drivers. Drivers are little bits of programming that allow your camera or printer to talk to Windows and thus communicate with the computer. In the case of the camera, we’ll assume that means you want to download the pictures you’ve taken off your camera and put them on your hard drive. In the case of your printer, we’ll assume that the goal is to print and possibly scan depending on the printer you own.

If your drivers get corrupted or out of date, your device will stop working properly. If, say, your computer got infected with a virus or malware and corrupted your Canon camera drivers, you may no longer be able to download your pictures off your camera onto your computer. If your Canon printer drivers are out of date, your printer may print gibberish or lines. The way to fix these problems is to update your Canon drivers.

How to Update Your Canon Drivers

Compared to most pieces of hardware, you have less steps to go through because we don’t have to go into Device Manager to find out exactly what your make and model is. You just have to look at it to find out. It should be marked on it.

Follow these steps to get your drivers, and then update them:

  1. Go to http://usa.canon.com/cusa/support/consumer.
  2. Choose your product type.
  3. Choose your product family.
  4. Choose your product.
  5. Go to Drivers & Software.
  6. Choose your version of Windows.
  7. Choose the most recent drivers for your device.
  8. Download to a location you will be able to find it.
  9. Go to the location you saved the drivers and double click. The file should automatically update your drivers.

Now your device should be working as intended–that is if indeed your issue was a driver issue. If it wasn’t a driver issue, you will still be having the problem.

An Easier Way to Update Your Canon Drivers

There is an easier way to update your camera drivers or printer drivers than going to the Canon website, hunting down your drivers from a list of various products, downloading the drivers, and then installing the updates. This is to use driver update software.

What this software does is monitor your computer’s drivers for any signs of corruption or any out of date drivers. Then it will go online and download the latest drivers for that device, and update Canon drivers for you–all with a few clicks of the mouse! As you can imagine, this software is quickly gaining popularity. After all, with drivers frequently going out of date, even those who work with computers are using this software. It is hassle-free driver updating.
