The ATI Radeon is the flagship graphics card of the ATI line and has been at the top level of performance for the gaming world for many years now. When you get this card, you buy millions of dollars in research and development, as well as a pedigree only one other company can share.

Only one other company has a reputation for graphics cards like ATI, and that’s Nvidia with their line of Geforce video cards. The First Steps

The first step in fixing your video problems is identifying which ATI Radeon card you have. To do that, we need to go into Device Manager and write down the name of your video card. Follow these steps:

1. Go to Start
2. In the Search bar type in “Device Manager”
3. Press Enter
4. Go to “Display Adapters”
5. Write down the entire name of your ATI Radeon card

Now you need to go to the AMD web page and download the drivers for your video card. I’ll walk you through finding the ATI Radeon drivers for your card.

Follow these steps:

1. Go to http://support.amd.com/us/gpudownload/Pages/index.aspx
2. Fill in the drop boxes with your product information
3. Click on “Display Results”
4. Now you want to download the Catalyst Software Suite to a location you can remember

Update Your ATI Radeon Drivers

In most cases this would be a difficult task, but AMD has made the Radeon driver update easy. Just go to where you saved the file and double click on it. It will self-install.

Sure that’s not a whole lot to go through, but there is an easier way to update your ATI Radeon drivers. There is software on the market called driver update software that will allow you to monitor your drivers in case they become corrupt or need to be updated with a more recent version in order to work properly.
